About UsBrookwood Memorial Halls comprise a large Memorial Hall with stage, lighting, kitchen, servery, Committee Rooms and facilities for disabled, and a smaller Community Hall. Together they are the main village and community halls of Brookwood village, near Woking, in Surrey, England. The Halls and grounds are maintained to a good standard and are available for hire - details from our Lettings Agent. The Halls are managed by local residents annually at a public meeting. The Memorial Hall was built on land donated by the London Necropolis Company, from funds raised by public subscription, to commemorate those Brookwood residents who gave their lives for our freedom in the two World Wars. NewsThe Annual General Meeting of the Management Committee of Brookwood Memorial Hall will be held in the Committee rooms at 8.00 p.m. on Monday 30 April 2012 where the financial statements and annual report for 2011 will be available. Any resident of Brookwood is entitled to attend, to stand for election, and if appropriate to vote on the matters discussed. Any resident wishing to be considered for election must submit his or her name and address to the Secretary before seven days prior to the meeting and must meet the eligibility requirements of the Charity Commission. Any resident wishing to have any matter discussed at the meeting must submit the request in writing to the Secretary before seven days prior to the meeting. A resident for these purposes is any person listed currently on the electoral roll for the Brookwood ward of Woking Borough. January 2012 - Icy Conditions - During periods of snow and ice, we will endeavour to keep the Halls open for pedestrian access only. We do not have the resources to keep the driveway and car park clear of snow and free of ice.
